[MUSIC PLAYING] One of the biggest motivators for many runners is knowing how far they've run in a week, a month, or a year. You don't even have to keep track of the miles. Forerunner 110 and Garmin Connect do it for you. Garmin Connect is a website where you can upload your run, view it on a map, compare and analyze your data, and share it with your friends. From the Garmin Connect site, click the Get Started with Garmin Connect button. Follow the directions on screen, which prompt you to create a myGarmin account. Step two is choosing your Garmin device. Select the USB fitness category. Make sure you've already recorded a run or activity with your Forerunner. Now, connect Forerunner to your computer. Plug the USB cable into a USB port on your computer. Align all four contacts on the back of the watch with the four posts on the charging clip. The battery charging icon should appear on the Forerunner screen. Once Forerunner is connected, if a window pops up on screen, just close it. Next, in Garmin Connect, click the Upload button in the upper right corner of the screen. Now you'll be prompted to download the Garmin Communicator plugin. The software, which comes in Windows or Mac versions, lets your device communicate with Garmin Connect. Follow the directions on screen to install Garmin Communicator. For some browsers, you will be prompted to close the browser during installation. If you did have to exit your browser, go back to Garmin Connect, and click the Upload button again. Select Upload New Activities, and your data will transfer to the site. Click View Details to see all the data about your run, including a summary of your time, distance, and calories burned, and a map of your activity. Click this Splits tab to view the data broken out by mile. Click the Player tab to see the Map Player which provides even more detail and lets you replay the entire activity. You'll love being able to store and review your runs in Garmin Connect. You can even use the site to create goals and track your progress or search for millions of activities uploaded by other users.
