Intercontinental Fiji
[MUSIC PLAYING] [NON-ENGLISH SPEECH]. I'm Alosio Tikolutu. Welcome to the InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort and Spa. Fiji is world famous for its sunshine, white sandy beaches, and crystal clear waters. It's also loved for being one of the friendliest countries in the world. Come with us as we explore our island and discover some of Fiji's hidden secrets. [INAUDIBLE] Voted as one of the top 25 beaches in the world, Natadola is unique because along its two kilometers of fine white sand, we have a tranquil lagoon, a soothing beach, and you can surf straight off our shores. Just across the channel from Navo Restaurant, is Navo Island. The island is seen as a special place for the people of Sanasana Village, and hidden away on the island are the sacred Navo caves. If you're in need of a bit of relaxation, be sure to speak to our team at Spa InterContinental. Our spa has treatment rooms and uses the very best products from Fiji and abroad. You can also book a beach-side spa cabana, where I'd recommend a traditional Fijian massage called [? Bombo ?]. And at the end of the day, join us at the Kama Lounge, where you can sit back, relax and watch the sunset. Every night we have our fire-lighting ritual, which is followed by cultural entertainment, such as fire dancing and much more. Within the resort, you can visit our boutique and convenience stores, located next to Sanasana Restaurant. You could also visit the local Sanasana Village ladies, who sell their wares at the entrance to our water court. For more shopping options, please join Amrita as she takes you out and about to her favorite stores and markets. There's certainly no shortage of shopping options in Fiji. We've come to Sigatoka Town just twenty minutes from the resort. Sigatoka is best known for having one of Fiji's best food and vegetable markets. Welcome to the Sigatoka Market. This is a Fiji experience you can't miss. The market springs to life in the early hours of the morning, offering shoppers a true local experience. Just outside Sigatoka, you'll find the Nakabuta Pottery Village, where you can take a tour of a modern day village, then watch as local artisans use traditional pottery-making techniques, to make vases, bowls, animal figurines, and jewelries. Finish your visit with a Meke performance, and then it's your turn to give back by joining in the fun. Sunrise on Natadola Bay is simply spectacular. Why not take a morning fishing trip out into the bay? Here, in Navo, you can have your catch prepared by one our expert chefs. I like to have my fish prepared two ways-- freshly sliced sashimi, with wasabi and soy, and for my main course, I love it grilled with chili, coriander, and lime. There is an abundance of choice when it comes to dining options outside the resort. I can recommend Sitan's located in Nadi, about 45 minutes from the resort. Just across the road is Daikoku, which specializes in Japanese teppanyaki. For a local twist, my favorite is Nadina's. I absolutely love eating at this little restaurant. They serve all the traditional dishes-- [? pamosami ?], Ika Vakalolo, [? ota. ?] But I can't go past Kokoda, similar to a ceviche, known as Fiji's national dish. Just a short shuttle ride away from the resort is the Natadola Bay Championship Golf Course. The facilities include a clubhouse, pro shop, driving range, and putting greens. You can also enjoy a free golf clinic with our resident golf instructors. The dramatic location, world class design, and immaculate landscaping makes this course one of the world's most picturesque. I recommend finishing your round with a cold drink and lunch at the clubhouse. Fifteen of the 18 holes feature stunning views of South Pacific, so bring your camera. And try to concentrate on your game, not the view. Just down the road is Malomalo Primary School. During the school term, the resort organizes a weekly school visit where guests can go to the school and meet the local children and teachers. The InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort and Spa has been supporting the school since the resort opened. A small donation is levied on your accommodation room rate, which goes towards the school's development. Resort guests generously donated books, stationery, toys, computers, and clothing, to the school. However, kids get the most out of meeting you. Thank you for joining us on a journey of discovery around my island home, Fiji. We look forward to welcoming you to our home and sharing all our [? in-the-know ?] experiences with you. [MUSIC PLAYING]
